This series was produced using 3D renderings of disembodied arms to explore how hand gestures operate to convey complex social relations. Rooted in linguistic idioms and emoji culture, the works highlight how seemingly universal gestures can be both ambiguous and culturally contingent, often obscuring meaning and reinforcing default norms.  Printed on clear flexible vinyl, the sculptures appear as uncanny digital apparitions in physical space.
